		<title>CAT?s 08 EBITDA Profit Higher than 07 Profit</title>
		<link>http://www.cattelecom.com/site/en/news_detail.php?id=840&amp;cat=457&amp;year=2009</link>
<description>Mr.Sompol Chanprasert, CAT Acting Executive Vice President (Marketing Service) says about the news that CAT has economical problems that we should consider the company performance from the operating profit.

&amp;ldquo; We can see from our EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortization). In 2008, CAT&amp;rsquo;s EBITDA was 29,932 million baht, comparing with 2007 EBITDA which was 29,127 million baht. We will see that 2008 EBITDA is higher than 2007 EBITDA 805 million baht or about 2.76% which means that CAT still has high liquidity.

About CAT&amp;rsquo;s rebranding, we need to do it to enhance the organization&amp;rsquo;s potentiality so that we can do business efficiently in the world of high competition in marketing and technology.

About the news that CAT&amp;rsquo;s board approved 490-million-baht budget within 3 years (2008-2010), we would like to inform that the budget was approved according to the business plan which the board approved and the rebranding plan is the part of it.

The amount of rebranding budget is 199 million baht and now we spend 25.16 million baht. When we rebrand, we have to change and renovate many places such as CAT&amp;rsquo;s restaurant, Customer Service centers etc.

It does not mean that we use the budget right away, but we have to present the action plan and details before the operation so that we can use the budget effectively.

For the point that CAT has hired 2 agencies to do campaign CAT 001 and CAT 009, we would like to say that it was the plan that was fixed since 2007. There were 15 agencies who presented for the campaigns and we chose the agency that had the highest marks for each service. Now it is on the process of hiring but we have not signed the contract yet.&amp;rdquo;

In celebrating the seventh successful year of its corporatization, CAT Telecom Plc (CAT)

Mr. Sompol Chanprasert, acting Chief Executive Officer, CAT Telecom, said that CAT has
achieved great successes in all areas, ranging from service coverage area, quality and
efficiency, throughout the past six years. It has seen a significant progress in its advanced
communications technology and network that enable CAT to better address customer&amp;rsquo;s

				<title>Recognition</title>
				<link>http://www.cattelecom.com/site/en/news_detail.php?id=1294&amp;cat=457&amp;year=2009</link>
<description>Mr.Adam Sutcliffe, Senior Business Manager of the Emerald Group Publishing Limited interested in having
the Highly Commended Award Winner presented in person at CAT Telecom PCL. The paper has been
selected as it was one of the most impressive pieces of work is the article entitled &quot;Optimization of
prehension force through tactile sensing&quot; by Dr. Somrak Petchartee, Engineer at R&amp;D Department.
Abstract: Optimisation of prehension force through tactile sensing

Purpose &amp;ndash; The purpose of this paper is to analyze surface deformations caused by shear and moment forces
on tactile materials and present a method to detect and reduce the risk of slippage by controlling the normal
force as measured by tactile sensor arrays.
Design/methodology/approach &amp;ndash; A predictive model has been proposed which uses a basic method adapted
to real applications in grasp optimization. Prevention of premature release with minimum prehension force is
addressed without the need to measure the coefficient of friction between object and robot gripper. Predictive
models have been used to develop a set of rules which predict the pre-slip based on fluctuations in tactile
signal data.
Findings &amp;ndash; The tactile sensors can be used in a &amp;ldquo;nonlinear&amp;rdquo; manner during manipulation tasks. When the gripper
finger first makes contact with an object, the stress distribution under the finger skin varies rapidly. Predictive
models have been used to develop a set of rules which predict the pre-slip based on fluctuations in tactile signal
data. Pre-slip at the contact area just prior to object movement produces rapid but detectable stress transients.
Originality/value &amp;ndash; Tactile sensors do not measure stress generated by a contact with an object directly, but instead
measure strain in an interposed compliant, polymeric medium intended for sensor protection and prehension
assistance. Reliable detection of pre-slip has hitherto eluded researchers using such tactile techniques.

<title>CAT, AIS, and dtac jointly sign an IC agreement in compliance with NTC’s notification</title>
				<link>http://www.cattelecom.com/site/en/news_detail.php?id=2070&amp;cat=457&amp;year=2010</link>
<description>                 Jirayut Rungsrithong, the chief executive officer of CAT Telecom Public Company Limited or CAT, together with Wichian Mektrakarn, the chief executive officer of Advance Info Service Public Limited Company or AIS, and Thana Thienachariya, the chief strategy and corporate affairs officer of Total Access Communication Public Company Limited or dtac have jointly signed an Interconnection Charge agreement witnessed by Pitjapol Jantanasaro, a deputy secretary-general of the National Telecommunications Commission

The signing of the IC agreements is made between CAT and AIS and between CAT and dtac with an intention to solve lingering complaints from mobile phone users who experience difficulty in making a cross-network call stemming from an inadequate number of direct links to serve an increasing number of mobile phone users.

Thus, the IC agreements between the three mobile phone operators will guarantee that users can make a cross-network call easier and more smoothly in compliance with NTC&amp;rsquo;s Notification regarding Telecommunications Network Access and Interconnection B.E. 2549 (2006) announced on May 17, 2006 requiring all mobile phone operators whether a licensee or a concessionaire to comply and abide by the same conditions and criteria set by the NTC.

                  &amp;ldquo;Cooperation among the three mobile phone operators, to adopt an IC rate today, marks another significant step crucial for the development of Thailand&amp;rsquo;s telecom industry seen as a joint effort to fully interconnect among another so that mobile phone users can smoothly make a cross-network call. As a consequence, it will forge the whole industry to be more committed to improving its network quality and compete intensively in providing a better service that will ultimately benefit mobile phone users.&amp;rdquo;
