This is a collect call with the free phone number which calling party needs not to pay for the call. (Except for the case; the calling party is a mobile phone with an international roaming service and must pay for the additional local airtime.) The service charge will be sent to the called party which can be classified into two types, that is, the domestic toll free service (DTFS) and the international toll free service (ITFS).

Domestic toll free service (DTFS)

This is a toll free numbering service for calls inside Thailand. The service serves government agencies and private companies that require their customers be able to call them with free of charge. They will take all the domestic charge for their customers.

International toll free service (ITFS)

This is a toll free numbering service for international calls and can be classified into 4 types as follows,

1. ITFS for international call out from Thailand and international call forward.

This is the international toll free service for business customers who want their local clients to be able to make the free of charge calls to their oversea branches. Customers can choose one of the two numbering formats either in 1800 XXX XXX or in the UIFN (Universal international freephone number) 001800XXXXXXXX that can call from both local fixed line and mobile telephone of any providers. The calling method is as follows,

2. ITFS for international call in to Thailand destinations

This is the international free call to Thailand. Customers can choose one of the two numbering formats either in the ITFN (international toll free number) which is given by a foreign provider/carrier of the originating country (different countries provide different ITF numbering formats) or in the UIFN (Universal international freephone number) which is a unique numbering that can call from different countries.

          Inbound ITFN numbering format is available for the incoming calls from 29 originating countries.

          Inbound UIFN numbering format is available for the incoming calls from 20 originating countries.

3. ITFS for international call inside any foreign countries

This is the international toll free service for calling from one country (not Thailand) to another country. Customers can choose one of the two numbering formats either in the ITFN (international toll free number) or in the UIFN (Universal international freephone number) and choose the corresponding foreign destination number for the international call forward (232 destination countries) via CAT 001 or CAT 009.

4. ITFS for foreign operators/carriers

This is the international toll free numbering that is issued to a foreign operator/carrier for their foreign clients (oversea branch offices). CAT is the primary telecom provider in Thailand who provides the international toll free service for businesses and enterprises with their oversea branch offices to be able to serve business free calls for their domestic (Thailand) clients. These free of charge calls can be made from both local fixed line telephone and mobile phone of any mobile providers. The calling method is as follows,

International toll free numbering for international call in to Thailand destinations

          Platform monthly fixed charge 1,000 Baht/month/number

          Air time charge is the same as CAT 001 rate (to see a given CAT 001 charging rate)

International toll free numbering for calling from one country (not Thailand) to another country

          Platform monthly fixed charge 1,000 Baht/month/number

          Air time charge on two tiers, i.e.,

                   Calling in from one country to Thailand is charged as CAT 001 rate (cf. CAT 001 rate)

                   Call forwarding from Thailand to another country destination is charged by the customer choice on forward call via either CAT 001 or CAT 009 (cf. CAT 001 rate, CAT 009 rate)

Domestic toll free service (DTFS) for calls that originate and then terminate in Thailand

          Platform monthly fixed charge 1,000 Baht/month/number

          Domestic air time charge 3 Baht/minute

International toll free service for international call out from Thailand and international call forward

          Platform monthly fixed charge 1,000 Baht/month/number

          Domestic call system charge 3 Baht/minute

          International call forward charge by the customer choice on forward call via either CAT 001 or CAT 009 (cf. CAT 001 rate, CAT 009 rate)

UIFN request has additional charge as UIFN numbering 6,500 Baht/UIFN number (one time charge)

• International toll free number format : 001800xxxxxx
• Universal international freephone number (UIFN) : 001800xxxxxxxx is a global unique number. Once it is assigned, it can be used in any countries under ITFS mutual agreement.
